It seems to me that the cougar is defined by her ability to procure men. Why is this supposedly empowering? Most "cougars" get copious amounts of plastic surgery which make them look much younger. Doesn't this negate the cougar label? Are there labels for men that reduce them down to their age/attractiveness? I do not think the label is empowering in the slightest. Cougars are always on the "hunt" for men. They are defined by their shallow desire for a young and attractive man who they feel no real emotional attachment to.
